Europe's largest sandbox is taking shape in Madrid. The city will become a space where innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world can test their advances in a controlled manner and with the support of the administration. This is one of the initiatives that Ángel Niño, Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the City Council, and the mayor himself, Martínez-Almeida, have been committed to for years.
The approval of a more relaxed ad hoc ordinance that removes bureaucratic obstacles to the development of these proof-of-concept projects in the city has made the sandbox a reality. "Once again, we want to position the city of Madrid as a benchmark in attracting talent and turn it into a great startup city," said Niño during the presentation of the sandbox at South Summit.
